Twice in the past week I've received the messagebox
"Cannot creating Ripping Control" when trying to rip a CD
But most of the time it works fine..
Peculiar...

What other program might have its grubby little hands on the CD drive? We've seen a lot of strange things in the past.

Well whats intriguing is both times it has ripped the first track
and it was on the second track that it complained.
After clicking cancel and then telling it to re-rip
it worked fine.
There was no other activity going on at the time as far I know.
I'll keep a watch out for it anyway!
