using Iriver Music Manager (IMM) firmware.
At the first-run MediaCenter offers my iRiver ifp-799T to recognize as portable. I accept, in the options window press OK and MC locks..
When started MC 2nd time (by terminating the mediacenter.exe) with reseted settings, MC locks again, till i unplug iriver and launch it 3rd time. BTW it works with wmp10!
PS. not using UMS (this way works), because IMM offers faster transfers

Make sure you're using the latest MC 11.1.
Post your system info here from the MC Help menu.
Thanks.

That may not be enough memory to run XP reliably.
