Hi
I wonder if anywhere can offer any assistance?
I have a Philips Streamium 300 and would like to use J River with it - mainly because of its ability to rip CDs to a single file for gapless playback.
My Streamium has been connnecting to Philips Music Manager over a wireless network OK, but can't seem to find J River on my Windows XP PC.
I have selected "Streamium" in the Options and have also uninstalled Philips Music Manager in case there was any conflict - but still no joy.
Here are the logs - I'd be most grateful if someone could offer some interpretation to what they might mean.

Did you set the options to tell MC you were using a Streamium?
What version of MC? Copy your system info from MC Help.
Firewall?
-
Thanks for replying Jim.
I don't think it can be a firewall because Philips Music Manager has been working fine.
Yes - I have set the Options to "Streamium".
Here's my System Info:

Turn off the "Warn on unrecognized NOTIFY" option, try again, and post the contents of the status page here. It looks like the Streamium isn't trying to connect at all, but let's see what the next log shows...

I've done that. All I get is this:
01/24/06 21:15:53 - JRiver UPnP Server Version 1.0.34 starting...
01/24/06 21:15:54 - UPnP Media Server Device started on port 2204
01/24/06 21:15:54 - Running
Thanks
-
That means the Streamium isn't trying to contact the UPnP Server. I'm not sure why at this point. It could be a firewall issue, since our UPnP Server doesn't run on a fixed port (and other server's often do).

Ah - you're right.
I just tried it with the firewall turned off...and it worked. :D
Do you know if there might be a way around that so that it will work with the firewall on?
-
I've sorted it now by specifying a port number in the UPnP server options - using the port number that came up under the UPnP Service Settings for my Local Area Connection in the Firewall settings.
Thanks for your speedy replies. Very impressive user service. I'll definitely be buying!
Best wishes.

Glad to hear it...
Thanks,
