Title: ripped file = lost file
Post by: DVD on September 25, 2002, 02:09:47 pm
Hey everyone, n00b here...I just got media jukebox, and my first problem goes like this:
I inserted a CD (Ramones) into my CD-R, and selected one of the files to rip, just for practice since this is the first time for me. Now when media jukebox has finished copying the file, it is supposed to be located on my harddrive (C:\Music , is what I set the default path to), but when I go to that directory, the file is nowhere to be found. It says the rip/copy was successful nonetheless. I have followed the help manual and troubleshooting guide more than twice, but still no luck. I know this sounds like a total rookie post, but I am a bit stuck now...lol. Thanks for any help.

Try finding it in MJ (use control f for a search) and then right click and do locate.

I just figured out the problem. I had the base path set to C:\Music, but it was dumping the songs into a subdirectory C:\Music\UnknownArtists because apparently when the songs are not tagged it sends the songs into a subdirectory that I did not expect. Just a n00b oversight on my part, but it still took me a couple of hours to figure it out...lol. Thanks.
