Title: Where has the "marking-box" gone?
Post by: StFeder on January 28, 2006, 03:34:47 pm: When you klick on a clear spot in the win-explorer, you can drag a box to mark some files.
In MC it works fine in the past. But I'm not able to do so any more. It has gone many versions ago.

Can we get this optin back?

It works for me if I set the "starting corner" of the box to a spot at the very end of a file list. Then I can drag a box from the bottom of the list. But no chance to do so anywhere in the list. It always starts drag&drop the selected file.

What about the possibility to change design in this detail?

Think of this:
I want to mark 200 files. Lets say files 130-230, 850-900 and 1000-1050. Is there a way to mark them at once without klicking 100 times?

Or this:
Someone else is using my computer (and MC). (S)He an wants to do the first mentioned operation in a playlist, selecting the first 100 files (marking first file und last file with pressed SHIFT key) and then presses the Strg (Cntr) key to drag a box. (S)He will duplicate the 101 selected songs in the playlist.
And then (s)he starts to whistle and goes his/her way. And months later I wonder why my playlists are so big (yes, know the option "remove duplicates", and will use it ;))

Marquee boxes should work everywhere, but you need to be clicking in the first column.

I'm sure I tried this. However, I just tried again and it works. Sorry for disturbing ::)
