Is there any way to tweak Audioscrobbler so that it picks up the recently played track info that's uploaded to MC when I sync my iPod?
TIA! 8)

Not at this time.
I use audiopod for that.

Just be sure to
1) dock the ipod
2) run audiopod and sync playstats to last.fm
3) start up MC
Must be done in that order for it to work.

...which prompts me to say that it's a shame no one's working on a better integration of last.fm into MC. I've just played a bit with Amarok on Linux, the player has its faults (especially when you compare its db/smartlist capabilities to MC's), but, man, is the last.fm integration beautiful? This suggested songs from your library right in the player is just a completely new listening experience. Great stuff.
To be fair, I should say that Amarok can't do either what you describe here. But it's possible since iTunes can with the iScrobbler plug-in.

It would be nice if the plug-in for MC could update Audioscrobbler via playing history. That way, if Last.fm is down and the plug-in wasn't able to update in real-time it could send the data after the fact.

Thanks, zxsix. I'll give a try when I get home.
Definitely would be great if the MC plugin could handle this itself.

Tragically, I'm getting this message when I try to download:
Oops...
Trac detected an internal error:

Traceback (most recent call last):

Ah, well, no particular hurry.

there's a modified version of audiopod out there called 'audiopod goes iscrobbler' that allows you to CACHE tracks you've listened on your ipod in case you're unable to connect to the server. however, it can only save to the winamp and/or itunes plugin cache, not the jrmc plugin cache. :( i wish someone would finally write the program that will COMPLETELY integrate last.fm with playcounts/dates from both iPod and player software. i've been using a media center for a little while now, but i've always got helper apps on the side that i have to run. i'd really love to get rid of them and just use ONE.

Isn't that what rhinobanga's working on right now? He's not finished yet, so you never know, maybe we'll get handheld support in the near future.

That's the way the current plugin works already. kind of. It doesn't use playing history, but it keeps the tracks in a submission Q if the website is down, and submits them all when it comes back online.
