Title: OMA files in Media Center?
Post by: pat1066 on February 05, 2006, 07:19:37 pm
.WMA and .MP3 files need to be put in a .OMA  wrapper before they will play on a Sony Network Walkman Ax000 series. Is there any chance that MC will ever be able to do this?
Over Christmas Sony provided a media player called Sony Connect Player to do this file transfer. It has turned out to be a disaster!

Perhaps Media Center could be the knight in shining armour...?

Does Sony provide a free SDK (or exe) that can create their proprietary files?  Any chance they'll update the firmware to support the industry standard formats without mangling?

This kind of junk really ANGERS me.  I say don't buy a product that can't support industry standard formats.

http://marcnetsystem.co.uk/
has a converter for OMA - I'll have to play with it
(I was rather hoping for a magic MC button to do it all for me!)
