His screen breaks up if he drags MC around.

It's a system related problem.  Disable all third party plug-ins.  Stop all other running software -- firewall, spam blockers, popup blockers, etc.

Try another video card (borrow one if necessary).

You reported this in the past, but I don't believe it's an MC problem.

I just gave mine a serious shake, and while there's a small ammount of corruption during the shaking, it settles down when the shaking stops.

I have to say, it's the first time I've ever actually done this. How are things if you just reposition the window without shaking it around?

Tried every thing you mentioned jim,
in fact the previous time i reported this issue was on another video card... (nVIDIA)
and now iam on a new ATI Radeon...!

I think this issue is related to MC in a spcefic way (As i guess) which is something related here in my system hardware/software, if exist on another person's machine will get the same issue..

Repositioning marko, ie: if iam sliding MC to put it in another area, gives some boarders trails

I just tried the shake with mc 11.1.111 on my work computer and sure enough, i get border trails when i drag mc11 across my computer screen.

Its not really harming anything and i can't say that i have ever really tried to drag mc11 around before on my screen and probably won't in the future, but the effect is pretty funky,  ;D

But when you stop dragging, the screen paints correctly, right?

In your screenshot it looks like your running CursorXP or something similar?
Unless you've just got a cool cursor pack from somewhere...
Otherwise Have you tried turning that off?  I used to get problems with Trillian and Cursor XP.

Yep, but takes a up to a sec.. for the whole screen to redraw correctly

Trust me, tried everything...

It's Windows and the drivers job to handle window movement.  MC may get asked to paint, but doesn't do anything else during this time.

If everything draws properly once you stop, I wouldn't worry about it.

sure it doesn't...

but this is the only software on my PC that makes this issue !

I am totally agree with you, but due to this display problem, MC dragging performs very slowly with certain lags/hangs while its in move

edit: also this issue happens while resizing MC window

This is an aside, but the threaded spectrum analyzer was slowing sizing down when it was on.  This slowdown was completely removed in build 114, so you may want to try it.

Right Click (anywhere in desktop)->Properties->Appearance->Effects->Show window contents while dragging (uncheck)

Have done this since 98, CPU friendly, less disorienting :)

You must have a big screen, with 1024 x 768 res, MC is either maximised or minimised for me.

Still the same

Just tested and noticed that, wheather slow-dragging or fast-dragging (drag-shaking) MC produces CPU usage up to 62% !

is this topic closed ?
I think that this issue is produced due to low MC skin engine loading speed!

Pink,
I'm sorry, but we don't regard this as a big problem.  It is probably related to the speed of your video card.

WHY ?!

it'll be a screen drawing thing.

Try it with WMP for example, I managed to get it's cpu usage up to 50% by moving it around the desktop rapidly.
It's got to try and keep up with you, so it's re-drawing itself, and constantly updating its window location untill you let it be in one place.

that's my theory anyway.  to be honest with you, when I'm using MC, it's either maximised or in the system tray and that's about it.
