Title: It is impossible to batch normalize files in MC

... (any version) except when ripping from CD.

I am right, aren't I?

Normalization has been largely replaced by a superior system called "Replay Gain".

We apply volume changes at playback time as a DSP.  This way, the original files don't need to be adulterated.

Thanks

I'll take that as a yes (can't be done) !

I am presuming that my Sony NW A1000 handheld can not cope with replay gain... Unless you know better!  :)

I will try asking Sony but I am not expecting that to be anything other than a waste of time  :(

I'll also see if I can work out how to experiment...  ::)

Our conversion engine supports DSP (and Replay Gain), so exposing this in the handheld conversion system would be possible.

We'll put it on the list for MC 12.0.  Thanks.
