Title: Interface, tree pane resizing.
Post by: RoadKill on February 07, 2006, 05:15:26 pm
Why can't we make the left pane smaller? It just stops.

I don't like to waste space and I want to view as much on screen at once.

Surely this is an artificial limit and it can be easily changed?

I've been using Media Center since version 9 and am currently on the latest build of 11.

Cheers!

You can hide it by double-clicking the splitter.

Yeah sorry, I realise this, I just mean resizing it normally it just stops and sometimes it's still wider than I need to display what I want, I guess I'm just being picky but surely it wouldn't be difficult to change?

Are you saying that it resizes when a change in the tree occurs?

I don't like that either, but I rarley have it open anyways.

I always have the tree open, all I mean is it only goes small to a fixed width.

I'd just like to see that restriction reduced somewhat so I can make it a bit smaller than it currently goes, but not hidden.

I know, it's picky but hey, it surely can't be too hard?

Nothing is hard for the JRiver guys, its just a matter of if they deem it a good thing or bad.  I think making it smaller probably makes the tree view not usable at that point so you might as well close it.

We'll take a look for next build.  The trick is that some action window pages aren't designed to show below a certain width.

Oh I see, I'm sure it's a usability thing, maybe have just a tick box somewhere like "Safe tree pane size limit" or something and have it checked by default, I dunno, just a suggestion.

Edit: I just noticed there's no horizontal scroll in the pane either. I'm sure there used to be?
