I have around 9,000 *.wav files on my machine, and like to use random play of the entire library while I work. After letting this roll all night, the sound became very choppy.
Tried re-starting Media player, remained choppy. Tried re-booting, still no help. Finally un-installed and re-installed MC 11.1, and this fixed the issue.
Does anyone know what could cause this, and how it can be avoided?
Thanks!

Try switching playback between direct sound and wav out in MC's options.
It may be a sound card driver problem so check for updated drivers.

Also, try the MC 11.1 if you haven't.
Finally, you may want to check out APE (or similar) lossless compressor for your WAV files. You'll save space, get tagging, get error detection, and not lose any quality.

Thank you for 'sound' advice! :D
I am actually using MC 11.1, typed it wrong in the original message...
I am very interested in using a lossless compression that allows tagging. Any information on the defferences between formats (advantages, disadvantages)? Currently I would say compatibility is my top priority; I would want to be able to easily share across my different systems.
Also, if I have associated album art with my *.wav files in MP, do you know if it will keep the information for the tag when I convert?
Thanks!
