Title: Some DVDs just won't play
Post by: SterlingY on February 12, 2006, 01:55:40 pm
Some DVDs start playing without any problems and some just give me a black screen, even if I try to go to a speciic chapter. Nothing happens.

Any thoughts?

They're copy protected.  The dvd software you have installed may not allow MC to use it.  I had to install a program called "Region Free" on one of my PC's.

Try re-installing the software that came with your DVD player.

There is this great program called AnyDVD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html). Use it to go around all copy-protect systems on DVD and CD. Give it a look.
