Title: MC uses the system-default outputs for video, ignores configured device
Post by: tjobbins on February 12, 2006, 02:19:24 pm
This has been a problem for a long long time - since version 9 at least I think - and I think it's come up before (even possibly mentioned by me)

I just wanted to bring it up again to see if a fix is planned at all.

I have two soundcards in my system - a pro-audio card on which I use the SPDIF for music and movie playback, and a surround sound card I use for games.  I have MC and my DVD software configured to use the pro card, and I set the Windows' default to be the surround sound card, because most games do not have an option to select which soundcard to use.

Trouble is, when I play videos in MC it always uses the Windows default card.  So I'm forced to use the other card for video files.

I would love to see a fix for this.  Either always use the general Playback output for video too, or add another option to individually configure the soundcard used for video files.

Thanks

Tom
