Title: Deinterlace with Cinergy 400
Post by: MrHaugen on February 18, 2006, 09:06:28 am
I have just configured my Terratec Cinergy  400 TV card with MC 11.1.121. But the the picture quality with my pal signal is really bad inmotion. I belive that is the interlacings fault. Tried to hit the deinterlace option, but I have no deinterlace filters installed. Any Idea on wich filters to use, or if it's possibly with this card at all?

I have searched the web for about 2 hours, but all that looked the least bit promising were written in German.

Can anyone help me out??

try this:

ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/tmp/deinterlace.ax (http://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/tmp/deinterlace.ax)

and check Dscaler web site to determine if the deinterlace filter will work with your device.

Thanks for the reply Yaobing

I have checked the dscaler webside for compability, but have not managed to find any information about it. G uess I just have to try and see.

But what should I do with this file? It's not like I can run this in a normal fashion. Shuld I just put it under a special directory, and MC will then find the filter?

I'll investigate that tomorrow. Too tired now.

Copy this file in any directory, for example C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 11\TV\ would be a good place.

Then you need to register it with your system -

Start -> Run

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 11\TV\deinterlace.ax"

You should get a confirmation dialog saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded". After that MC will be able to find it, and try to use it.

That did the trick, yes. To register it at least.
Thanks again.

But Cinergy 400 is not supported yet  :(
Though it is planned in SAA7134. Not sure if this is the version of deinterlacer or if it's the brand of chips or something. Anyway, it seams like the the lates availible is SAA713. Maby I just have to wait for a new one.

If anyone know about an alternative I would be mighty glad!

MC TV only supports deinterlacing by DScaler. The deinterlace.ax file linked above was built with DScaler source code.

Yea. That exactly what I was afraid of.

What ever. I'm going to buy a new one soon anyway.

I've been looking at the Cinergy 2400i DT MCE dual tuner pci express card. But it's not supported yet. So I might have to find another alternative that is supported.
Anyone got a good TV tuner to recommend?
