Can I start a debate here?
I would love my images to show up under the playlist/smartlist name, not album.
That way I could have smartlists that get updated with every sync. Plus I don't have to update the album tag for every photo. That is an extra step I wouldn't need to do. This way you could also have photos in multiple slideshows. (you may have to duplicate the image, but the user wouldn't know.)
I know there would be a problem for people who don't sync by playlists, but I think most people do. (Another option?) Plus playlist name is more like the way the music is synced. If I made a playlist of my favorate 50 songs, synced it to the pod, and then have the songs only show up under 50 different albums, not the original playlist name it would be quite useless. (You wouldn't make the user change all the album tags to the playlist name!)
A playlist/smartlist/slideshow sync just makes more sense to me.
Anyone else agree?
Thanks

I totally agree with you but I am not sure if it is something that is going to happen. I find that I really do not use MC to sync photos to the IPOD because of this.
I would rather not constantly change the album name in order to get images to show up where I would like them...and I have a lot of images that I would like to see in multiple albums.

We have been promised tag mapping in the future (timescale unspecified). I don't know whether it would extend to photos, but that could largely give you what you need

Since playlist name is not a tag I'm not sure that would help. The powers that be might be able to add it.
razumik, what do you use for photo management and syncing?
thanks

Currently I use Photoshop Elements and iTunes for syncing photos to my IPOD. One of the Options in the iTunes sync is to transfer all of your Elements catalogs (playlists). It works really well....except, of course, for the fact that I have to use something other than MC to sync. I find that I only sync photos when I think that I am going to be somewhere where I might want bring them up.
I have also been managing photos in MC just in case the playlist transfer becomes available at some point...it confuses my wife, but I am used to it at this point.
