Title: documents in mp3 player sync
Post by: aatreya on March 03, 2006, 05:29:25 pm
Hi,
Does anyone know how to prevent PDF files and other random documents from appearing in the player sync window?  Is there a way to specify that only music file types should be looked at?  I especially don't want the option to delete extra tracks on the device to delete all my documents too...
Thanks.

Any ideas?  Am I missing something obvious?  Please help.
Thanks.

If your sync doesn't contain documents, no documents will get deleted even if you enable "delete files not in sync."

Gotcha.  That's good to hear.  Is there a way to exclude them from displaying in the list at all, though?  The card that stores all my music has a bunch of programs on it, so when I click on the device I see ~500 random files mixed in with music.
Thanks.

Use the 'choose playlists' method of syncing, and sync a smartlist that has all of your music.

Yeah - I tried that but it doesn't prevent all the extraneous files from appearing in the list...
