Hi Mat,
I would like to try Media Center. I have downloaded the 30 day trial and installed it. When I try to launch the program I get the Trial Period Expired dialog. I did a complete uninstall in case of transit damage and repeated the procedure but with the same result.
Please advise.
Thanks,
WouldBeUser.

Check your system date.

Thanks 4 the reply, Jim,
I checked my system date. It's correct. Any other ideas welcome.
Thanks

If you've ever used MC11.0 before, you can't use the trial for 11.1. You could try it on another PC.

Hi Jim,
Thanks again for replying. I haven't ever used Media Center before, on this or any other machine. I'm kinda looking forward to it though, if I can ever get it to run.
Let me know if you think of anything else that might be preventing me. Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks,
Allan.

the only three things I'm aware of that cause premature expiration of the trial period are:
1. Change of system date
2. Change of computer name
3. Previous installation more than 30 days ago.

I had this error also, I had used MC10 but not MC11 or MC11.1.
The system date had not changed either or comp name!

Thanks to you both. At least I'm not the only one to have this problem! I've never installed any version of Media Center but just in case Sony did and I didn't notice, I'll scour the registry before looking for another software package.
