Title: would we like a features tour of our new forum?
Post by: kandarohi on September 21, 2002, 12:19:37 am
yahoo u.k. have just changed their page too, but they provide a little animated tour of the features they now have to help you get used to and get the best out of their site. (if you use u.k. yahoo, it's worth checking out). i would find it very informative to have something like that here for this forum, where it seems that you have far more options as to what you can do with various buttons on the page, and also the buttons that appear when you are typing out a message. if you like the idea, then maybe if enough people reply to this post, then the people who control the page will set one up. i personally think this will help attract and keep new or casual visitors on this site for longer than they would otherwise spend here if just surfin' by, or get here by accident. how about it?

Animated tours take a lots of setup time.. OK for Yahoo.. Not OK for MJ....

Whats confusing ?? Theres an FAQ and anything else just shout or look over at the main YABB site...

I agree that a full explanation of buttons would be helpful. However I do not like it when the only feature explanation is an animated tour. Mildly ironic: I frequently get paid to make animated feature tours  ;D

The link works.

We're learning about this at the same time you are.

Maybe people might post things they discover.

I find the "10 most recent posts" near the bottom of the home page useful.
