Hello, I am making the translation to the Spanish (Spanish of Spain, formal translation) of MC. I can say that the state of the translation is very advanced and that few lack to translate very few strings.
Nevertheless, I have been with certain words and phrases that are not translated correctly, to grief that exists its translation in the language file.
In some cases it does not suppose greater problem, because they are in certain parts of the interface of MC in which, by the context in which they are, happen unnoticed.
But it does not stop being an annoying detail to be with parts of the software without translating.
In case outside error mine, this is connection to the language file in which I am working (always updated with the last changes) so that they review it:

This file of language contains the last games of phrases added with the version of MC 11.1.143 and is based partly of the work of translation of ferent.
We could use this post to be included the phrases and words that are not able to translate, in spite of having its corresponding translation, by problems of programming in the interface, so that the developers can correct it or explain to us how to do.
It would be enough with following the same scheme which I propose next to facilitate to JimH, Matt & cia the strings location. It is a effort that is worth the trouble and that will be used for all.

Phrases and words that are not translated (with string location)
- 'Services & Plug-ins' in lateral menu
- 'Search' word in Search box
- Item names (columns) in properties file (Tag Info)
- 'Search for Media Servers' string in menu 'File > Library'
- 'Key 0', 'Key 1', 'Key 2', ... in Options, Remote Control Settings (command list)
- Items to show (News, Playing Now Playlists,...) in Options, Theater Mode
- 'Encoding Type & Quality' string in Options, Encoding prefs pane
- List of encoders formats (in dropdown list) in Options, Encoding, Encoding Type y Quality area
- Items of Features check list (My Computer, Web Media, Podcasts, TV), in Options, General, Advanced check list.
- Library Fields list names in Options, Library
- Actions list in dropdown list (Convert audio if necesary, Allways convert audio, ...) in Options, Library ,'When playing from Library Server' area
- In general, all items contained in dropdown lists & combo boxes
- 'Drop to Play', 'Drop to Add', 'Drop Files Here', and similar strings in Action Window, Edit Existing Playlist & Edit Playing Now (when a new playlist is created or edit one already existing)
- 'Click here to add notes' string in description area pane, when a list without notes is selected
- Phrase 'Are you sure you want to delete the playlist '%s'?' in Confirm Playlist Deletion alert dialog, when one is eliminated playlist.
- Count number of files/Gb/Days (example: "2349 Files (11,9 GB - 7,0 days)"), 'Saving database' string and similar texts in status bar
- Licence status, 'registered' word in ABout Media Center window dialog [" JRiver Media Center 11.1.143 (registered) "]
- 'Set Display' submenu (Cover Art, Track Info, 3D Visualizations, Visualizations) when click with the right button of the mouse on a visualization.

I´ve sent an email to Jim two weeks ago saying this. I´m sure MC is working in that :-)
I hope to send my new spanish translation tomorrow, I´m working on it.

Some example of questionable translation
1: Herramientas/Opciones/CD & DVD Burning/Opciones Generales
¿Ejecutar despues de escribir? ? ::)
It should be something like: Expulsar despues de grabar
2: Herramientas/Opciones/CD/Ripeo CD
¿Conseguir cubierta de internet tras el ripeo? ? ::)
It should be something like: Descargar portada desde internet tras el ripeo
¿Ejecutar CD tras el ripeo? ? ::)
Expulsar tras el ripeo
(In spanish ejecutar=to execute, it could be translated like "make something" too, but mainly is execute)

The translation of MC is in Spanish and strings that is not translated maintains in English.
Strings marked in yellow is translated, but MC turn to capital letters the first letter of each word.
The keyboard shortcuts are not translated in any menu of MC.

thanks, most of the things it has been corrected with version 11.1.149 of MC.

dylanstan, the comments that beams are on the version of the translation that ferent is making.
My translation, the one that can be seen in the thumbs, is in formal Spanish (of Spain) and it relies on all the norms on technical text translation. You can unload from here (http://soporte.proel.net/ftp/jrmediacenter/MClangES.zip) (always it is the last version available, in developing). Note that in this one, the translations are more appropriate.

The strings contains variables (%s , %d?) and it is not created in the original file of translation (in English).
How it is written? I have tried it with:
