Title: File Association Icon Broken??
Post by: matt-uk on March 17, 2006, 09:43:27 am
I've noticed recently (in the last couple of builds, I think) if you use the file association dialogue in options to enable associations with Media Center, it seems to break the file association icons for several file types.. This could be something on my system too.. Have you guys come across this yet??

Icons are ok here.
Any example file types?

If I do a "select all" and click OK in the options for file associations, it seems to break the icons for mp3, m4v, wav, jpg, tiff, gif, bmp... basically anything that is associated with Media Center.. It might affect more, but I only have those types around at the moment. All the files in windows explorer show up as the default "no application" icon.

If I "deselect all" in the options and click OK.. The icons return to normal. Some still display the Media Center file icon and are still associated with Media Center.. It's very weird!

This is all in Windows XP

I'm still experiencing this in Version 11.1.149.. Is this happening for anybody else?

I'm still seeing this behaviour described above - with the file association icons being broken when I choose to associate any file type with media center.. The files associate correctly but the icon always changes to the "no association" icon.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
