Title: Identify Bad MP3 Files?
Post by: AustinBike on March 19, 2006, 08:38:42 am
My wife went to burn a CD yesterday.  When she looked at the tracks for an album, some were missing.

I checked the folder and they were there.  Apparently, there was some problem with the MP3 files and they were not imported.  I opened them up in a tool, re-sampled them and then they were imported just fine.

With ~35,000 songs in my collection, what were the odds that these were the only 3?

Can MC show me a list of files with an MP3 extension that can't be imported?

How do I find this out, is there another tool?

I would love to have something that could help me find broken files instead of going directory by directory looking for gaps.

Any idea?

Mp3Utility (http://www.geocities.com/mp3utility/) can help with bad mp3s, look in it's options for directory recursion.

MP3 Utility was just the ticket.  I found over 100 files that were bad.  DBpower Amp can fix them, but it's a 1 by 1 process.
