Title: CD Burner is Hung Up
Post by: imarkt on March 24, 2006, 09:21:00 am
I am using MC 10.  I clicked on the cancel button after the cd burning process began.  After about a minute the process stopped but now the cd tray won't stay shut.  When you shut the tray it reopens in about 2 - 4 seconds.  I have restarted the computer, performed a system restore, ran registery mechanic, ran scandisk and reinstalled the device drivers (and probably a couple other things I have forgotten).  Nothing has worked.  This is very frustrating.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Try shutting down and pulling the power cord off for a minute.

If the drive happens to be an external (FireWire or USB), try connecting it to a different USB/FireWire port too.  I've had that happen with a Plextor external drive before and I basically just had to twiddle with the port and keeping it unplugged for a while to clear all the capacitors.
