I am currently running MC 11.1.150. Sometime in the last 15 builds or so MC's behavior has changed that is preventing my fileserver from going into suspend/hibernation mode. (or possibly some sort of MC option has changed on my part during a clean reinstall)
I run a separate fileserver machine with my MP3, divx, etc files on it. I then have a another machine with MC 11.1 on it that uses microsoft network drive letter shares to attach to the fileserver over a net to see the music library.
In the past, the fileserver would go into suspend mode just fine during idle periods (and wakeup on actitivity).
Now for some reason, with MC 11.1 running on my network, the fileserver is seeing some sort of drive access from MC 11.1 and is prevented from going to sleep during idle periods.
Is there some setting/option I can select to tell MC 11.1 to not touch/access the music library during idle/no user/no music/sitting in the system tray doing nothing periods?

Podcasts being downloaded?

I am not a podder.....Is there someway to turn off pod checking?

Check your podcast settings in options. Also check each feed by right clicking.

MC should only stop the screen saver or suspend when in full screen view.

I usally miminize MC to the system tray.
Also, just to clarify, I am concerned about suspend on my fileserver. MC is doing disk access over my net to the fileserver causing IT to not be able to goto sleep. I am NOT concerned about suspend on the actual machine that MC is installed on.
I want MC to stop any background disk accesses to my fileserver-based library when there is no music playing or user inputs to respond too.

After long debugging sessions, the problem turned out NOT to be MC.
I had a registry setting on my fileserver that needed to be deleted. I needed to play with the autodisconnect setting in the HKLM/System/currentcontrolset/services/lanmanserver/parameters/ registry.
