Any way to remove duplicated media from the libraries automatically??
-
Create a new smartlist and choose Task -- Possible duplicates from the stock lists provided.
Or, Tyoe this into the search bar
[media type]=[audio] ~dup=[artist],[name] ~sort=[artist],[name] Double check that they are dup's and delete

Cool, set up the filter - how about any feature that will automatically delete the duplicates identified (I've got over - 7K files - and half are duplicates)...? Here's hoping....
Thanks

There is a remove duplicates function in the library tools. But I"ve never got it to do much. I use a separate program, Abee MP3 Duplicates Finder. Google it.

You have to remove them by hand using MC.
The 'remove duplicates' command is for playlists (available via right click) and it removes them from the playlist, not the library.
duplicates management is one of my library maintainence tasks. I check them every month or so and it keeps them in check nicely. I generally don't delete them, preferring to keep full albums. Instead, I flag all but the best quality file and ensure that only that file is pulled from the library by general smartlist searches. Setting it up took several days (~3000 duplicate files to check) but after that, it takes just a few minutes every 4-8 weeks to maintain.
