Title: MC x64 handheld support question...
Post by: JONCAT on April 02, 2006, 09:39:49 pm
I'm hoping to hear if an Axim x51v can be supported by MC11.1 or Windows Media Player for x64 systems.

I ask because I can run the newest version of ActiveSync on my x64 PC except for the fact that Windows Media Player recognize my handheld nor will MC. Everything works with Windows XP so I belive that ActiveSync is not copying some files because it may, for some reason, think that WMP is not installed.

On the XP rig I don't see the Axim as Mass Storage Device but MC recognizes both the the Axim (the sync folder) and the CF card.

I  have tried to re-install WMP as well as ActiveSync with no luck. The Axim will show up as a Mobile device in Explorer but I don't believe it's a added as a "true" removable drive.

I guess I could try a network or mapped drive but would like to have a driect connection obviously.

Is this possible?

The Windows WMDM system if responsible for listing devices.

It sounds like there are still some issues with the x64 version of WMDM.
