Title: Girder problem
Post by: godavego on April 03, 2006, 05:05:20 pm
Ever since upgrading to 11.1, I've seen a strange remote/girder issue.  On my system, I start MC straight into TheaterView.  However, many commands do not work if I do that.  To get them to work, I have to drop back to the standard view, do something, then go back to TheaterView.  Once I do that, everything works normally again.

Is there a way I can startup without requiring this extra manual step?  On my system, I do not have a keyboard or mouse connected.  The extra step requires that I go upstairs and VNC into my system.

Why not trying to launch MC in Mega Me, wait a few seconds and then go to TV ?
If you're using girder it should not be too difficult to do that automatically!

Normally, this isn't a big issue because I never shut my machine off or exit MC.  However, since 11.1 builds keep coming, I've been doing both a lot lately.

CDvd, based on your response, I think what you're saying is that I startup Girder and MC in standard view (via Windows startup folder).  Then, have Girder wait a few seconds before sending MC the command to switch to TheaterView.  I haven't done anything like that in Girder yet, but I will give it a try.  What I really don't like is the lack of real documentation for Girder 3.3.  What little there was seems to have been removed from the Proximis web site.
