Simple question, right?

That is incorrect.  Tivo files ARE protected, but I am the owner of the protection.  The .TiVo file plays fine if renamed to an .AVI file.  I AM THE OWNER OF THE FILE! and the associated MAK is installed on my PC, with the proper codec to play them.

Your assumption is the same as if I were to say I was playing a DRM'ed WMA/V file or AAC file.  As long as I am the owner of the file, I have the ability to play it.

Now that we are all on the same base, and understand that we are talking about legitimate, non-illegal files ... How would I associate a .tivo file to play in MC and how do I import it?
