It appears as though Media Center 11.1.168 has a problem with album counts. When using audio\artist album view, under the "Album" list, the first item is "All (413)", where 413 should be the number of albums I have. If I use the "Options" drop down and select "Album Thumbnails", click on the first album and finally press Control-A to select all albums, the status bar on the bottom shows "414 albums (5410 files - 137.1 GB - 15.8 days)". The status bar is correct, I have 414 albums in the library.
How do I know I have 414 albums? I use a program called "Music Collector" to catalog my collection. It stated I had 414, while Media Center "All" list item stated I had 413. So, I printed my Music Collector listing, and then verified it, album by album against Media Center. I discovered the "Album Thumbnails" Control-A trick after spending a considerable amount of time comparing the album listings to determine which program was correct. Argh.
Please fix this and save my sanity :-)

Is it possible files without albums get counted in one and not the other?
Perhaps there's a case-sensitivity issue?
You can use MC > Action Window > Statistics > Overview while selecting files to see what MC thinks.

I made a screen shot, is there any way to attach it to a post so you can see what I mean?
More confusion ...
- The Artist (auto) list item says "All (135)"
- The Album list item says "All (413)"
- When selecting all album thumbnails, the status bar says 414 albums, which is correct.
- The "MC > Action Window > Statistics > Overview" says I have 136 artists and 413 albums!?

I'm guessing you have two albums with the same name.
Two albums with the same name will be the same entry in the panes. In Album thumbnails lists, they'll be different entries.
This is by design.

I cannot see two albums with the same name. Further, how does this explain how the "album artist" pane shows 135 artists, while the MC statistics shows 136?
