Title: clipping and/or distortion in v171

I am getting substantial clipping (or a similar distortion on peaks) with the latest version which I didn't have before, and which I don't get playing the same music with MediaMonkey. 

Diddling with settings in EQ Studio doesn't have any effect.

Try switching playback between direct sound and wave out in the options for MC.  Disable any third party plug-ins.

WaveOut is somewhat better; switching Device from recommended to my SigmaTel Audio (onboard Intel) may be better.  Clip Protection is On

Problem still there; I am using same tune for testing.

You may have something else fooling around with the sound.  Try killing any other processes you can.

Visualizations?  DSP?  etc.
