Title: Filename (path) ROOT -- Is it gone?
Post by: drosoph on April 14, 2006, 11:07:41 am
I used to be able to define a ROOT path so that I didnt have to see the huge c:\documents and settings\MY USERID\My Documents\Folder1\Folder2\etc in the Filename (Path) pane.

I could define c:\documents and settings\MY USERID\My Documents as the ROOT, and it would only show Folder1\Folder2\etc in the pane ?

I know it's gotta be there, i just can't find it :(

is this within MC or windows in general.

If you can't find it you could use a Net Use to share or a subst command.

ie.

net use M: \\mypc\documents and settings\username

or Subst M: c:\doucments and settings\username

the it would show up as M:\folder 1 etc...
 ;)

In edit or add viewscheme, if you choose 'filename' as a View Item, it gives you the option to choose a folder as its root.
