I'm quite sure this is an easy fix, but I'm not finding any help searching through the forums:
I'm re-ripping my cd collection to .ape lossless and nearly all my compilation albums seem to be defaulting to 'Various Artists" in the Artist field tag when coming down from YADB. I checked my old library (.mp3) and this didn't happen last time I ripped the CDs with MC9 about 18months ago....
Am I missing a flag or setting somewhere?
thanks, Paul.

Same problem here. DBPowerAmp connects to freedb database and correctly rips the titles and artist names, but it's flaky with extraction compared to MJB, on discs that have minor scratches.
YADB needs to be fixed, or I'm blind and cannot seem to find the "Oh, you want ALL the data" switch >:(
-
In my case it seems to work fine. As a test I reripped a compilation album that I personally send to YADB a couple of years ago. Before downloading the info I deleted the CD entry from the MC database and from the CDPlayer.ini file. Here is the rip log:

It might help if you guys could provide the CD details so that JRiver folks could check the database.
I experienced a different problem with a classical album. The files are fine but the log looks quite strange:

Here is an mpl playlist of the info I had in MC's CD database before ripping: bach.mpl (http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/alexb/temp/bach.mpl)
-
The discs I'm having trouble with are DJ compilations...the "Now That's What I Call Music" volumes. Specifically, #16 and #17 which say "various artists" and "finger eleven" respectively.
-
Mine are also compilations, (I'll dump a list out at home tonight and paste them up here). The funny thing is that when I last ripped them (the exact same CDs) previously, the track info and artist info was all there (i.e. individual artists per track)...
-
The following are all coming up as "Various Artists" when I pop the CD into the tray and YADB recognizes it.
they all have complete artist data in my old ripped collection from MC 9 days.
Best of Acid Jazz Vol. 2 (Disc1)
Best of Acid Jazz Vol. 2 (Disc2)
Carte Blanche, Vol. 2
Cream Anthems 2001 (1 of 2)
