I have the following on my list:
1. Control of which audio renderer to use for audio stream.
2. More user control of DirectShow filters (such as decoders).
3. Video controls (contrast, brightness, etc.).
Please add your requests/suggestions.
Thanks.

I've so far avoided the DirectShow stuff so far,
but this would make things easier:
Automatic grabbing of the most appropriate decoders.
Same way Lame is downloaded for encoding MP3.
Most people don't want to hunt through these boards to
find the best decoders I'd imagine. :)

Very good.

I would like zone control over TV/video like defaulting audio to zone 1, tv to zone 2 and video to zone 3 and each zone with different audio/video/display output.
Not really related to video, but it would also be nice to start a slideshow1 on zone 1 to be displayed on display 1, slideshow 2 on zone2 to be displayed on display2 etc.
I am thinking of MC controlling 4 different beamers projecting 4 different video/tv/slideshow on different walls. I think the main technology is already there requiring only some minor tweaking to make a big gain!

It would be really cool if we could specify, per file, a start and end position. iTunes has this feature, if your curious what I mean.

1. Replay gain for video
2. Embed something better - e.g. vlc or media player classic.
3. Choose your own thumbnail for the file by telling it to use a particular frame from the file. (e.g. playback, when you find something you want as a thumbnail: pause, right click, use this frame as thumbnail)
-
The posibility to capture images from a Film and save to JPG, like powerDVD does.
-
Video file playback caching for playing files living on the network or slow drives. Otherwise, I think Yaobing's list looks pretty good (pretty darn good).
Mostly, I'm looking for improvements to MC's TV interface and Theater View systems.
-
An option to have all video launch in a separate window.
Much like windowed mode, only an autosized window that is separate from the main window of MC. This would eliminate the constant back and forth between Library Mode and Playing Now when browsing and sampling videos (and maybe even pictures).
-
1. OSD improvements to toggle time remaining info etc. I like the way ffdshow handles it's OSD stuff. Something along those lines would be good.
2. Native support for MKV (and OGG) containers to allow chapter navigation etc.
3. RatDVD support!!!!

An elegant way to browse your DVD collection and avi files in the same viewscheme. Now, a DVD in a library is full of the tracks that make up that DVD, and it's messy in the bottom list, since you expect each thumbnail to represent one movie.
Perhaps MC could fill the "Album" field with the movie name by default for all video content, so that we could browse in album thumbnails mode.
It'd be nice if there were some way to auto download movie posters that to use as thumbnails for the DVDs too.
-
Album thumbnails don't happen in theatre view...you currently don't have a choice. I agree about filling the album field automatically though. Currently it automatically fills album with the file date created...this is a PITA, unless you go and change it, because my cover art files are named by [artist]-[album], so if you import movies with the same date, they end up with the same cover art file name.
I use posters for my thumbs, and only scan my DVD covers when I can't find a decent jpg of the poster. Looks great, but AFAIK there is no database/ consistent sites to get them from.
I'd also like to see zoned video/image/DVD&CD output to multiple screens. Hopefully in 12, but I'd be prepared to wait!

I would like that for Audio (MP3) as well!! If you put it in, please make it generic for both media types.
