I just recently downloaded MC and find it to be a really cool tool. I will definately be purchasing it. However, there are a few small suggestions I would like to give.
1) Pause button on format conversion dialog (even if it just stops at the end of the current song). When I convert my entire collection, it takes days, and sometimes I want to do something that will use a lot of CPU during the time period. I'd like to pause the current progress so I can do my tasks, then restart it when I go to bed.
2) More background multi-threaded behavior. Currently, lots of stuff seems to freeze when other actions take place. I've even had the song playback go into an infinite loop just because MC was sorting a large number of files. Another example is if you click a menu item, and leave it then during file conversion it will stop at the end of the current song until the menu is closed. As a programmer myself, I realize this is probably a message queue related issue. Background threads would solve that.
3) A method to synchronize converted files to removable media. For example, when I delete one of my lossless files, I want to also delete the converted version from it's place on my external hard disk. Or, when I rename a file or update it's ID3 tags, I want those changes to be applied to the converted file as well.
4) An option that when you change the name of a song, it can also update the filename as well.
Also, here's a few bugs i've noticed:
a) Podcast feeds aren't universally supported. I ran into a lot of problems trying to add all the same feeds I currently use in iTunes. Some worked, some gave an error message about the RSS format.
b) MC shouldn't allow you to type illegal filesystem characters (for example / or :). If you are copy and pasting filenames from the song name, then you get into situations where you paste the name, then move on to the next one, then a few seconds later a dialog pops up giving you a cryptic message.
Keep up the good work.

#1 Overnight conversions may help.
#2 may be a hardware issue. MC uses a lot of multi-threading. Sound card drivers may have bugs that can appear with one type of playback -- try switching playback between Direct Sound and Wave Out.
#3 probably won't happen anytime soon.
#4, you can do by right clicking a file or files and choosing Library Tools, Rename Files from Properties. Try a few before you do very many.
a. Please post a few examples of podcasts that don't work.
b. It's pretty hard to prevent you from typing illegal characters. ;)
Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

was thinking...
can't #3 be achieved using the handheld device options?

It would be nice if there was the option of "Automatic Renaming of Files From Properties" after tag changes, with a set of rules.
I tell MC to rename everything now and then, but this would be a nice option.

COOL!! I vote for that!!

with the ability to use expressions in the base path field, naturally ;) :D

b. Actually this should be pretty easy :D
I second the original #2 - try putting in three CDs in auto-rip and do anything else - YADB dialogs, other dialogs, keep popping up. Its much, much worse if I RIP to external lame instead of my normal wave, constant lame dialogs popping up, taking focus. The program and my PC is unusable when doing this.
