Title: D-Link DSM-520 - UPNP Server
Post by: davemccorkle on April 28, 2006, 04:15:18 pm
Question reguarding the UPNP server.  I have a DSM-520 and love it!  It works great with Media Center which I also love.  My question is simple.  When I want to play all songs from a group in a shuffle or random way, my DSM seems to only shuffle one album at a time instead of randomizing all albums at a time.  Is there a way to setup my media center to accoplish this or some other way?  Thanks

Have you tried using a smart list? How exactly are you shuffling?

Back when my DSM-520 was working, I was able to shuffle any number of albums or songs.  The easiest way is to use play lists.  You can also shuffle everyting in a particular category by selecting the <all> category until you are almost to the bollom level.  Select <Play> while on the last menu.  The down-side is that the DSM-520 does not allow you to assign a plalist or set of songs to a hot-key.  You can only assign one song at a time.

Since upgrading to the v1.02 firmware, I can no longer stream any media to my DSM-520.  I will start a separate topic for this.

Good luck!
