Is there a plug-in or any plans to support .ORF Raw format?
(fingers crossed) :'(

Sorry...scratch that.
I just noticed there is support for this.
I am unable to view these in MC.
File Association is set but all I see is red + blue checkered board.
Is there anything else I should have set or may have set wrong?
MC Ver. 11.1.174

ORF support was introduced about a year ago (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=27690.0).
Usually, after making some corrections I convert ORF files to JPEG or TIFF and keep the raw files only in my archive as "digital negatives", so I have not really used ORF files with MC.
I tried it again now. I imported a few ORF images to MC. MC downloaded automatically a component (named Canon... something) and everything seems to work. (MC 11.1.178)

Thanx for the reply Alex
I jummped to ver .178 with no change
I also use my raws for archiving and convert changes to .TIFF's. But I don't keep any .JPG's
Did you download from your camera or from your drive? I just imported from my drive.
I guess I not sure I understand why MC would download something from Canon for an .ORF
Does MC need a plug-in from Olympus in order to view these? They view fine in PS
I will try downloading from my camera later and see if that changes anything.

I am quite cautious and never let any software directly access my camera. I use always files that are on a HD after I have made backups of my original images.
The "canon something module" was downloaded from JRiver. A new subfolder named "Canon RAW" appeared under the MC plugins folder. I have no idea if that folder contains support for all different raw formats or if the download was needlessly triggered.
I wonder if Olympus has changed the orf format recently. My camera is not exactly new. I have an Olympus E-20 (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2001_reviews/e20n.html).

I agree with ya on that one. I have never connected my camera and think i will keep it that way.
The "Canon RAW" folder is present on my computer but i'm sure it's not related.
I did search around and it seems other programs have had updates for the .orf format but it wasent clear if was due to changes in the format itself.
I do have a new Olympus (E-500), Possibly you are right!
I'm just going to go back to using Olympus Master, which is fine but I would like to get things down to one program someday :)
Thanks for the imput.

We'll see if we can do anything about this. Stay tuned.

The reason it downloads the Canon RAW stuff is because I put the check for file extension in after the bit that downloads the Canon RAW stuff. It should be harmless. I'll try to make that better when I get a chance.
The RAW support in MC is courtesy DCRAW. Unfortunately the version of DCRAW it is based on is about a year old. We are looking to update how this is done.

Thanks, much appreciated! ;D
