Title: cannot download new update

request time out from the ftp-server, day after day ... is there another solution?

Hi, Alex!  :)

The ftp server works fine. Probably your firewall prevents the access. You could try to change the firewall settings. If that is not possible you could download a freeware ftp client program from here:

http://www.tucows.com/Windows/IS-IT/NetworkAdministrationProtocols/FTPFileTransferProtocol/?page=1&nfilter=freeware

and try to connect the address ftp.jriver.com directly with the client program.

Also try an http download.  Just substitute http for the first ftp.  The line below the download button on the download page uses that method.  Here's the link:
http://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter11.exe
