Title: rss problems?
Post by: marko on May 01, 2006, 01:48:22 pm
bear in mind I know nothing about how these things work, I just click the buttons and expect them to work ;)

internet explorer 7 cannot display this feed, claiming something about a "normalisation error"?

FWIW... Works just fine in Firefox as a Live Bookmark.  (Certainly wouldn't put it past Microsoft to not adhere to RSS standards properly, but I'm not going to point fingers...)

If you don't mind viewing rss feeds in a page, another way you can get around this problem is to just use something like Google Reader or Netvibes which are web aggregators:

http://reader.google.com [needs a google account]
http://www.netvibes.com [needs an account if you plan to read on another computer]
http://www.pageflakes.com (another one)
http://www.techcrunch.com (read this, better yet subscribe to the rss for news about the latest web 2.0 services)

tip: You can build up your list of subscriptions in these types of services and then export all of them as one OPML file and then you can use that file to transfer your subscriptions to any other latest and greatest rss aggregator (popular ones almost always support OPML import) without having to re-enter each one.  This is very handy.

Hope I'm helpful,
