Is it possible to create a smartlist of tracks that have never been burned to cdr (or the date burned)? I do most of my listening in my car (I'm on the road a lot) on cdrs that I have burned in MC, and I'm trying to find a way of tracking what I have not heard in a while. Thanks for any help, Chuck.

Currently this isn't tracked although it might be a neat feature for MC 12.

OK, thanks for the quick reply. Chuck. :)

Chuck--
This is more or less like my request for a smart "backup manager". Note that you can currently do this manually by creating a custom field in "tools/options/library" and then entering either the date burned or the CD identifier in "File Properties" as you select each group of tracks to burn. It's one extra step as you burn, but down the road it can help you keep track of your CD collection.

I always gather files into a new playlist before burning them. I have currently 55 saved CD burn playlists under a "Burn" playlist group. Sometimes I burn old playlists again (I use mostly rewritable discs) and sometimes I exclude previously burned files.
Unfortunately playlist groups cannot be used in a search. It would be easier to exclude only the group instead of 55 separate playlists.

I have never thought of it, but yes this would be really useful
The amount of cd's I must have wasted re-recording something, only to find one I did before........
Now if you guys were REALLY clever you'd find a way to let me know where I put the darned cd's............
Maybe add it to the popup - 'In the boot of your car, under the petrol can' would be SO handy ;D

Good ideas! I'm going to try them both. Thanks, Chuck. :)
