Can MC11 be controlled via command line from a remote PC?
I have HAL2000 (home automation software) on one PC and MC11 on another PC. I want to control MC11 with HAL2000 by using command line commands. What is the best way to do this?
I have tried using PSTOOLS "PSEXEC" command with MC11.exe, but can't get it to work.
for example, from my HAL PC I run the command:
PSEXEC -u user -p password \\MC11COMPUTER mc11.exe /play C:\song.mp3
from the remote computer, the command appears to go through, but nothing happens with MC11 on the MC11 computer.

I have no experience with HAL2000 or PSTOOLS, specifically, so I can't help you there. However, I do know that generally some applications don't like to be controlled remotely in this way (though I have no idea if MC would).
A potential workaround would be to install an SSH server on the MC Host machine (http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/) and script it to actually run the commands locally. I imagine you could then get HAL2000 to execute the scripts when you want it to...
Girder is also network aware on it's own in some ways and might be able to accomplish similar tasks, lacking application support (though you might need to get the Pro or Whole Home edition).

The devzone here has some info that may help.
