Title: Songs just won't play

Hi,

I hit play, and the song info comes up, but the counter stays at 0:00.  It looks like it tries to start (the Meters start bouncing), then nada.  Happens on both .ape and .mp3 music.  I have had this same problem before and never did figure it out - things started working one day.  I can play music from another computer in the house using media server(hosted by the machine with the problem)  Latest 11.1.183.  XP Pro. I did have this problem on prev version, and upgraded to see it that would fix it. No dice.

Any ideas?

Try local files instead of Library Server files.

Also, play with the settings in Options > Playback.

This problem once again mysteriously fixed itself, following a number of reboots and system changes from installing some other software.

I am not using the library server on the host machine - I wanted to mention that I could play from a client machine just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions on options - I'll try that next time.
