Title: Only some MP3 podcasts play

I'm successfully downloading podcasts from the BBC, but one or two of them don't play on my portable MP3 player for some reason. I get a message saying "Format Error". I'd understand if none of the files played, but most of them do.  All files play on my computer so the files themselves are intact.I've contacted the BBC but await a reply.
Any ideas why these rogue files won't play? Can I convert them to some other format?

Do you have a link?

What version of MC are you using?  Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

Er.. I have a portable MP3 player. I have no idea what a J River Media Center is.

Well, with the problem I had, I decided to trawl the net in search of suitable discussion boards and help areas. I found this one which had the sub-heading of "Portable digital Players" which seemed to fit the bill, but it's clearly more specialised than it seems.
