Title: Audiobook bookmarks?
Post by: tessa on May 08, 2006, 11:49:19 am
It looks as though MC supports automatic bookmarking for Audible (.aa) files but not other types of audiobooks.  By this, I mean, if I play an audible file in MC and then stop playback, play something else or exit the program, and then play the audible file again, it'll restart playing from the previous point.  However, when I try this with other audiobook file formats, particularly m4b files, MC doesn't remember where it was.  When I play this files on itunes or my ipod, it does remember.

Is there a workaround for this?  Can I easily set a bookmark in MC when I stop playing a file?  Are there any plans to add support for m4b files in this manner at a later date?

An additional related enhancement request:
When I play an audiobook on my ipod and then stop and come back to the book later, it rewinds about 2-3 seconds -- which is very useful.  It would be nice if MC could do this for audiobooks because this makes it easier to pick up where you left off (and I suspect mimics the way people read paper books).

TIA,
Tessa

I would also be very interested in increased bookmark support.

Given that Podcasts are increasingly becoming part of our lives and of MC, and given that many podcasts are in the mp3 format, I would really like to see some kind of mechanism to save a bookmark. Maybe we could tie this to the Podcats genre, where one stops playbakc of a file that is marked as a podcast, MC would save the time. When such a file is played, it starts from where it left off.

Please !!!
