I have CD-Rs that were originally burned with CD-Text, but the MC application does not recognize the text. I've verified that the text is there (plus iTunes recognized the discs).
Is there a setting to ensure that CD-Text is read during encoding? If there is, i can't find it.

Are you ripping the disks? Are they audio format?

yes, ripping is the intent. but as i understand it, the application is *supposed* to recognize CD-Text when the CD is placed in the drive, not just as a function of ripping.
yes, audio disks. as mentioned, iTunes recognized the CD-Text upon insertion...

I was ripping a few old cd's (burns) today that I had forgotten about...cd-text was showing up okay. I think these discs were probably burned w/ EAC or Nero as I now burn discs exclusively with MC.
I am using these drives:
