Title: License Registration and V9 Preview
Post by: Pete on September 17, 2002, 02:26:59 pm
I have been working with the 30-day trial license of MJ8. I used it wisely and have learned a lot about MJ I like. There are still things that I want to know about improvements coming in version 9. For me, this is a pretty important decision because I want to be finished with this evaluation and pick ONE jukebox as my future digital entertainment system.

The trial license just expired a couple days ago so I downloaded the Version 9 preview today. I was hoping that we would get to evaluate/preview the entire package, but it seems that since my trial has expired, PLUS features with version 9 are not engaged. Can anyone verify this?

I was thinking that all the features were there as the first thing I did was rip a CD with the version 9 preview. This capability was disabled when the version 8 trial ended. However, I noticed that I can't go and set encoding parameters (128-bit high quality, for example) like I could with v8. I also can't add cover art (PLUS feature?) and I couldn't access DSP stuff.

So can someone confirm that I have to buy the license to check out the full feature set of Version 9? If so, I guess I have no choice but to go ahead and buy the license. I really like MJ a lot, although I have to admit I'm not 100% sold on it. But I'm not 100% sold on other jukeboxes either. And I do like the way J River is going about it. It seems more of a labor of love and I find this forum VERY valuable.

If you can wait a few days, we may have a 9.x license ready.
