I may be in the wrong forum -- if so, please forgive.
I have used EC successfully for a long time. Today I was told, "Your trial period for MP3 encoding has expired. Press YES if you want to purchase now." SO... I pressed YES, filled out the form, authorized 14.95 on my Visa, and received a file called MP3_Encoder1.0-70777.mja -- and a paragraph stating it is my license -- which consists of 17 lines of apparently random letters, numbers and characters. Returning to my EC -- it tells me the SAME thing as above -- and I can find no way to tell it to look for the new info.
Please help me.
Thanks.

What's EC?

Entertainment Connection -- an "earlier?" version of MC -- screens look mostly the same -- most of the skins work -- but the support forum set up for it has been dead and/or inactive forever. The program itself will send me to J River pages, and then give me Error 404 when I use any of the links on them.
Sorry this answer was so verbose.

What's EC?
there is a few ref for "Entertainment Connection" in the past
and i do remember about MJ5 ~ MJ6 (1998-1999) they were charging $15 for a mp3 encoder
-
Wow... way before my time. I didn't show up until the MJ7 days. :P
-
I got the "invitation" to try it out from Best Buy in August of 2004.

Ah, ok... this would be The Big Deal (tm) that was being talked about a couple years back. I never did find out how that all turned out.
IIRC, that was using MC9.1 or maybe 10? I don't remember ever having to buy an MP3 encoder for either of those versions (or ever going back to MJ7).
Hopefully one of the JRiver guys will read this soon and have a much more helpful answer than anything I've got. :P

Hi SunshineAngel,
I've voided your purchase. We don't support Entertainment Connection anymore, you can upgrade to Media Center if you'd like.
