Title: MC refuses to start
Post by: dcwebman on May 23, 2006, 06:03:57 pm
I had 184 working fine on my machine. Now when I start it, I get the splash screen, and that's it. I don't see any jriver stuff in the Task Manager processes. I tried re-installing 184 and the same thing happens. Rebooting, same thing.  Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

Unplug any devices or memory readers.

Make sure Media Server isn't running.

Ths isn't something we hear often.

It's a laptop so nothing is hooked up to it. I don't run Media Server on it either. Is there anything in the program files folder that I can move/rename? I know one of your first suggestions is to disable any plug-ins but I can't do that the normal way when I can't get it started.

OK, I got it working. Apparently it was the new Lyrics Editor because I uninstalled that and MC started up okay. Installed the latest Lyrics Editor and MC wouldn't start again. It's weird because I have no problem on another machine with the two.

Try reinstalling the latest .net, then reinstalling the Lyrics editor.

There was a bug in Lyrics Editor that didn't like it when MC started up with an empty Playing Now. Should be all straightened out in 1.2.2 that I put out last night.
