Title: How to restore preset customized views
Post by: Cmagic on May 24, 2006, 05:47:42 am
Hi Folks,

After a big nasty computer crash (mother board) I built a new computer and just reinstalled MC11.1. I saved everything from the old JRMC11 install, just in case.
I recovered my library alright with all my 20k tracks.

Now is there a way to recover my customized views ?
I had previously saved them as presets. Is there a file to copy from the old install or something ? I just hope they were not saved in the registry !!

Some years ago I would have been sharp on an issue like this one, but now I must admit that I am getting a bit lost in all options and settings !!

Thanks for any help and have a great day,

Christian

Well,

My presets might be gone but I see that my views are still showing as I customized them with my old dead PC !

Am I correct ? The views are saved along the library files ?

Please pardon me if this sounds like a trivial question.

Thanks,

Christian

The view schemes and playlists in the MC tree are part of the database and included in a backup. The saved column and sorting presets are kept in the Windows registry. Unfortunately, the old preset format is not compatible with MC11.1.
