When a title is downloaded from the data base that you use and the title has a quote mark in it like "can't" or "won't", it always puts a " / " to the left of the quote mark and I have go in and edit the title.
Thanks,

I couldn't figure out if that was a bug in YADB, or a problem with the computer belonging to the user who submitted the CD. I don't see that for all CDs with ' in the title, but I do for some.

I've had a similar problem a few times - maybe 1 or 2 per 100 lookups. The following characters have been replaced by a "/":-
' `ατ
I would guess a mismatch if the ISO language pack that the DB runs on. Should be using CP850 and maybe using CP427 instead.

I had this happen too on more than one CD in the last couple of weeks. I get the "/" in front of all apostrophes ( ' ).
-
I have noticed the same thing from time to time. I have always quickly fixed the tags manually without giving the matter a second thought, but perhaps YADB has a bug.

I have the same thing, it does on most song titles

This never happens if I'm using Windows Media to rip a CD. Titles always come out correctly. This only happens with the database that MC calls on.

Hi Y'all,
Is this data you submitted? Or just looked up?
Can you give me a CD title to work with?
Thanks,

John, I was ripping John Fogerty - The Long Road Home, which I just purchased. There were about 4 or 5 tracks out of 25 that I had to manually correct. I used MC to lookup the data and did not submit it. Also, the automatic Album Art lookup came up empty, so I had to find the art manually as well.

Thanks. I almost got this fixed on friday, but not quite. There was a bug at one time with submitting that introduced improper backslashes. I wrote a cleaner to fix up the data, but it isn't quite ready. It'll be done on monday.

Should be fixed now.

Has this problem been resolved in 187.
Thanks, Skylar

It's a fix on the server side, not in Media Center itself.
