Thanks.  The player is part of the service.  There is no price for the player -- only the service.

I understand, itīs like a MC but free (no price) without pictures, plugins and TV, and with a few new other things, like the Performer Digital site.

I don't know what that is.  In the U.S., they're 99 cents each or you can buy a subscription for $10/month and play whatever you want.

It's just started, so there will be some bugs.

Where can we alert us about new bugs like this? here?

Small thing, maybe cuz it's beta, but the help doesn't open.

The skins look more flexible in PD, hope this makes it into MC12 :-)

What Ferents image shows is Euros
1 Euros = 1.2869 U.S. dollars

So thats one expensive Album  ;)
Just tested and it's working fine with Ģ Sterling.

Eventually you will.  Getting the rights in each country is difficult.

G-Force doesn't work in Performer Digital, either. I even did a system restore back to a place that it used to work (in Media Center). The weird thing is that the standalone version works in MC and PD.

Sound Spectrum (GForce) is looking into the problem but they can't reproduce it. You know how that is.

It did on mine - no additional problems with the dual install. It's got a large selection of albums, too. Near as I can tell, it's a lot like Rhapsody except you can play through a J River player. I haven't taken the "money plunge" yet but I'm thinking seriously about it. Same price as Rhapsody.
My main question is if this thing is durable or is it like the other "something connection something or other" thing.
My other question is "Is this DIRECTLY beneficial to J River, etc.?" I want my money to go to the "good guys". Maybe I'm a chump but that's the way I feel.

It's good of you to feel that way.  Thanks.

It should be durable, probably will outlast me at least.

In the terms and conditions the following is said about the free trial:
x Purchased downloads are not included in the free trial.

What does this mean?  Why would you purchase downloads
if you're on a free trial?

So far I'm not impressed with your partner...

I tried out the service in November to see if the music available was any different than what my current Yahoo! subscription gets me.  It wasn't (at least not for what I wanted), so I promptly cancelled my trial through the PD client.  Guess they never received my cancel notice, or chose to ignore it, (PD claimed the message was sent) because I just got billed!

I've resent the cancel notice through the client and web interface, but I can't believe they don't have an actual e-mail/phone listed anywhere on the site...

Not much conversation going on here about this service.  Is anyone using it?  How do you like it compared to other services?

I am contemplating joining a subscription based service allowing me unlimited downloads and transfers to a portable device.  Particularly, I am looking into Rhapsody as I like their "channels" and genre playlists.  Does PerformerDigital offer the same things?

What kind of interfacing, if any, does the PerformerDigital service have with JRiver Media Center?

Thanks, I hope to hear more discussion about this service.

The Performer Digital player is actually a version of JRiver Media Center 11.1.  We modified it for MusicNet.

MusicNet, in turn, offers back-end business-to-business customers.  CDigx, a university-oriented service was the first one out.  More are coming.

I might use it, and actually just tried it out again but its still only US citizens and the EURO bug is still there too. I agree inflation has been sky rocketing lately but 99 euros for a track is still too much  ::)

I just wanted to add that MusicNet/Performer Digital did finally get back to me and they credited me back the month they charged me for after I first attempted to cancel.

If this could be added as a service into MC12, I'd be more interested than having to run a second outdated copy of MC to download music.  Granted MC11 is still better than Yahoo's, or Rhapsody's applications in most ways...

Of course it's hard for anyone to beat Yahoo's price if you get in on the MasterCard buy-one-year-get-one-free deal.

These folks are a serious business as of yet.  They can't process a credit card transaction (at least I hope they can't, because I'm done trying and I hope they aren't planning to take my money after refusing my credit card several times).

Are you outside the U.S.?  They don't have rights for all countries.

Jim,

Hello, I hope you don't mind that I am contacting you. I stumbled upon This website when finding information about Performer Digital.

I have downloaded and used the client that comes with Performer Digital and I'm a little boggled by it.

The more I use it the more I like it, but something just doesn't seem right... I have experienced some wierdness with it that makes me wary.

Do you know if this client will be tweaked/updated regularly, or is what is out there now all we'll get? With the recent departure of many legal services (Urge, Yahoo's "To Go" Plan, Virgin Digital, etc.) We are left with very few Choices. I am very pleased and custom to the MediaNet digital library, but my choices of services are down very thin at this point. Do you know if there is a future with Performer Digital?

I appreciate your time and response.
