With each new version it seems like the tree on the left pain of Media Centre grows by one or two options. All these extra options just get in the way. I use Media Centre to play audio only and want to remove options like images, services, drives and devices, podcasts and start.
Is there a way to remove options from the tree on the left? There must be a way to force it to audio only right?
Thanks.

Some Of them Can Be
Options, General, Advanced, Features

Thanks King Sparta, that helped. Is there a way to remove images and video so that the only media option is audio?

A lot can just be deleted, but I hope you persevere, its worth it
When you set this program correctly there's none better
Please play around with the options
If you want just artist/album, then you are missing nearly all of the best features
I'm sorry that you are unhappy with it, but honestly, if you read the help files thoroughly you will not find a better program
If you have any questions, please post an explanation of exactly what you would like to see and we will try to help you to get to where you want to go

On any view scheme you can right click and 'edit view scheme'
From here you can change the bit at the bottom (step 4) to 'Media type audio'
This will only show audio tracks
-
If you click on 'audio', and then hide the left bar (double click on the 'grippy' thing), you will effectively have an audio only program.
Hope this helps :)

One hint I would give you is that MC's implementation of sorting by clicking on things is back to front
eg If I want albums done artist, album, track number
you should click on track number, alubum and then artist
the better way is to right click on any track and pick the 'customize current view' option
from here, you can sort thing pretty much how you like
personally, for albums i sort them artist, date, track#
if you want to get fancy you can even create your own data fields (i use this for audiobooks - they don't slot in well with the default setup, but 5 mins after instaling i have a great setup) and use them to sort by
post a good description of what's wrong and we'll do our best to help

Thanks for the comments everyone. Media Centre has been managing my audio collection since version 10.0 came out. I take advantage of much of the utility of the program, however I don't use it to play video files, manage pictures etc.
If you have any questions, please post an explanation of exactly what you would like to see and we will try to help you to get to where you want to go
On the left pane in Media Centre I would like to remove:
-Images
-Devices and Drives
-Services and Plugins
Thanks again for your responses.

On images, right click - delete
On the options dialog -> general -> features , there's a list of things you can disable but the bottom two are not on the list for some reason
I can't see a compelling reason why Matt couldn't add them to the list though

Just one comment on this. Since you said you are using MC to manage your audio collection, I don't think you would want to get rid of the Services and Plugins. There are a couple plugins now that help tremendously with audio only like the new Lyrics Editor, Lyrics Finder, Cover Art Finder, etc. Even Drives and Devices comes in handy when manging your audio files within MC instead of having to go out and use Windows Explorer or some other tool.
If it's any consolation, I only use MC with audio only too.
